Potluck with Guest Speaker Tennessee Environmental Council

Our Guest Speaker will be John F. McFadden (PhD) from the Tennessee Environmental Council and will be speaking about Tennessee Environmental issues and environmental legislation.

John F. McFadden (PhD) is CEO of the Tennessee Environmental Council with over 25years’ experience in the environmental and nonprofit management. McFadden currently manages all aspects of the Council’s statewide operations, including the Sustainable Tennessee, Watershed Support and the Tennessee Tree Project. The Tennessee Tree Project has planted and estimated 250,000 trees in the past 10 years, with the last 100,000 being planted in 2015 and 2016 on two separate “50K tree day”events, utilizing over 9000 volunteers in all 95 Tennessee Counties.John’s work has resulted in three Governors Environmental Stewardship Awards and in 2014 resulted in the TN Division of Forestry’s “Friend of Forestry” Award. In addition he has been recognized by the federal and state court systems as an expert on water quality related matters. John served as the Wilson County Recycling Manager and has more than 10 years of experience teaching collegiate biology, environmental science, natural resource management, earth sciences and currently teaches Strategic Sustainability in the University of Fredericton’s MBA program. He lives in Wilson County, Tennessee with his son, Elijah, and enjoys hiking and sailing.

Guests are invited to bring a dish, dessert, or beverage to share, however bringing a dish is not a requirement.
