Una vez más estamos por celebrar el mes de la Herencia Hispana, y con este motivo, el Partido Demócrata de Williamson County (WCDP por sus siglas en inglés) envía un saludo a la comunidad hispana de los Estados Unidos y en especial a aquellos quienes residen en Tennessee.
Once again, we are about to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, and for this reason, the Williamson County Democratic Party (WCDP) sends a greeting to the Hispanic community of the United States and especially to those who reside in Tennessee.
El mes de la Herencia Hispana es una gran ocasión para reconocer la importancia de la comunidad hispana en el pasado, presente y futuro de nuestra gran nación. De acuerdo al reciente censo, en los Estados Unidos habitan 62 millones de hispanos, quienes representan el 19% del total de la población Americana. La población hispana ha crecido un 23% desde el último censo del año 2010, mientras que otros grupos tan solo han crecido en un 4% en los últimos 10 años. En Tennessee viven cerca de 477 mil hispanos quienes representan el 7% de la población del estado y en Williamson County viven más de 14 mil hispanos que representan casi el 6% del total de habitantes del condado.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a great occasion to recognize the importance of the Hispanic community in the past, present and future of our great nation. According to the recent census, the United States is home to 62 million Hispanics, who represent 19% of the total American population. The Hispanic population in the U.S. has grown 23% since 2010, while other groups have only grown by 4% in the same period. Tennessee is home to more than 477 thousand Hispanics who represent 7% of the state’s population and as of Williamson County, more than 14 thousand Hispanics who represent almost 6% of the total population, call it home.
Gracias a su rápido crecimiento y constante desarrollo, los hispanos día a día ocupan un papel más preponderante en la sociedad Americana. Es importante que la voz de los hispanos se haga escuchar no solo en temas de políticas de migración, sino también en temas de educación, salud, atención médica, infraestructura, y de seguridad en el trabajo.
Due to rapid growth rates and constant advancements, Hispanics each day play a more important role in American society. Because of this, it is important that the voice of Hispanics be heard not only on immigration policy issues, but also on education, health, medical care, infrastructure, and workplace safety issues.
La forma más efectiva de hacer oír la voz y de transmitir el mensaje hispano es votar. La mejor forma de estar representado por gente que comparte los valores hispanos y que son parte de la comunidad, es votar. Es por esto que aprovechando la celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana, el Partido Demócrata de Williamson County invita a los hispanos a registrarse para votar. El voto participativo es la mejor manera de comunicar sus inquietudes y de hacerse oír.
The most effective way to have the Hispanic voice heard and get their message across is to vote. The best way to be represented by people who share Hispanic values and who are part of the community is to vote. Therefore, taking advantage of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the Williamson County Democratic Party invites Hispanics to register to vote. Voting is the best way to communicate your concerns and make yourself heard.
